Make a Wish Montana is hosting their 2019 Walk for Wishes event on June 14. According to Special Events Director Lisa McKinney, the event is from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Fort Missoula Regional Park.

“We wanted folks to come after work and enjoy some music by Bob Wire,” McKinney said. “We will also have Big Dipper Ice Cream and a wish reveal. One unexpecting wish kid will actually find out on stage that their wish will be granted. It is super exciting.”

McKinney says it is really easy to sign up for this event.

“Just go to montana.wish.org/walk,” McKinney said. “When you sign up for Walk for Wishes, you either sign up as an individual or you create a team. We may have a friend of a wish kid who would like to give back and they may have two or three people on their team. They may bring in $100 each and that would be $300 that their team brings in.”

If you‘re not interested in fundraising, McKinney says you can find a team online and donate to them.

“If you imagined every Missoulian or every Montanan raising $50 or $100 towards Walk for Wishes, that would grant a lot of wishes,” McKinney said. “Right now, our goal is to raise $70,000 and that is approximately seven wishes. We have 60 kids on the waiting list.”

Walk for Wishes is all about celebrating local wish kids battling life-threatening medical conditions. McKinney specifically thanked Consumer Direct Care Network for already raising over $5,000 to help support these Montana kids.
