Grizzly Basketball Cancelled Due to Wildfires
The Montana Grizzly men's basketball team is in Los Angeles and was scheduled to play UCLA this evening.
It is very strange to announce the cancellation of a basketball game because of wildfires. But UCLA made that announcement Wednesday afternoon, stating that the health and safety of student athletes, staff and fans is top priority.
Multiple wildfires broke out early today, including one just miles from UCLA's campus that shut down parts of the 405 Freeway, compounding already-serious wildfire problems in the area. No arrangements have been made at this time to reschedule the Griz/UCLA game.
The Grizzlies will now fly to Atlanta, where they will play Georgia State Saturday afternoon. All Griz games can be heard in Missoula on flagship station AM1290/FM 98.3 KGVO and also its website.
