Former Griz QB Gets Shot With New Indoor Football League Team

"If you got a chance, take it. Take it while you got a chance."

Those words from the country song "'Till You Can't" by Cody Johnson may well serve as a mantra for a former University of Montana Grizzly quarterback who still has the fire and desire to play at another level after college. And the chance has presented itself in the city where his college football career began.

University of Montana Sports Information Director Eric Taber has shared the news that  record-setting Grizzly QB  Dalton Sneed has been named to the inaugural 25-man roster of the Vegas Knight Hawks of the Indoor Football League and will get the chance to take his first professional snaps on Friday in the team's season opener.

Whether this helped Dalton's chances to sign with the team is uncertain, but it's always good to have connections. The Night Hawks are owned by Bill Foley, a businessman with several Montana interests. The Knight Hawks are the Indoor Football League's newest franchise. They will play their first game this week in their home stadium, new Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nevada, hosting the Northern Arizona Wranglers.

And get this. The game is expected to be a sellout.

Dalton Sneed came to Montana from UNLV where he was a recruit of former Rebel and current Griz head coach Bobby Hauck. He is one of two quarterbacks on the Knight Hawks' roster. He will compete for the starting job against former Boise State QB Jaylon Henderson.

Should Dalton, who is officially listed on the Night Hawks website roster, get the chance to play this Friday night, it will be his first game since graduating from UM in 2019.
