Run for your lives! They smell your fear! They're big, bad and crawling your way! Okay, I'm sure my sci fi horror teases are not too scary. But it is kind of creepy.

Spring showers have unleashed rare, giant earthworms on the Palouse Prairie in Idaho. They can grow up to three feet long. A hiker discovered them near Lewiston last weekend.

The worms were actually thought to have been extinct but a researcher found one about 10 years ago, so it's a long time between visits for the big dudes.

Millions of trout have petitioned the Idaho Fish and Game to require anglers to use them exclusively. I mean, if you're gonna go, might as well go big!  DB
