TMHT: Get ‘Lucky’ at the Humane Society of Western Montana
Not only is it his name, but it sounds like how you'd describe the fortunate turn of events that led him to the shelter.
It was another Take Me Home Tuesday here at the radio stations sponsored by our animal loving friends at Paul's Pancake Parlor in Missoula. Janet from the Humane Society of Western Montana introduced to two of the many animals deserving of forever homes.
LUCKY
"Lucky" is an adorable small-to-medium size dog. Given his background, it might take a little while for you to earn his trust.
Janet says Lucky was apparently picked up along the road after being thrown from a car. In a move that likely saved his life, he was taken to the shelter, and it seems like he was handled rather intensively, as he was showing bite reaction tendencies. But Janet met him this week and found him to be a perfect gentleman with all signs pointing to him becoming a fabulous dog.
ZELDA
Poor Miss Zelda is in her golden years, as were her owners. Sadly, this sweet cat was brought to the shelter when the owners had to move into a nursing home. She is remarkably healthy at the age of 15. Janet says her teeth look like those of a cat half her age!
Obviously, Zelda is classified as a senior cat, making her eligible for the Humane Society's Seniors for Seniors Program. That means she can be adopted by senior citizens and there are no adoption fees.
Get to know Lucky, Zelda and all the other pets waiting to be adopted now a the shelter. The Humane Society of Western Montana is located at 5930 Highway 93 South in Missoula. Hours are Wednesdays - Sundays, 1:00 - 6:00 pm.
