At approximately 8:45 Wednesday night, 32 year-old fugitive David Moorse was captured by Missoula police after hiding inside an apartment complex on Old Fort Road.

The pursuit began when Moorse was confronted at a local motel by U.S. Marshals and the Missoula Police department. He fled in a vehicle which crashed on Dixon Street. Morse then fled on foot and was able to evade officers for most of the day.

A homeowner in the 2300 block of Harve found Moorse hiding in his house and chased him outside. The resident called 9-1-1 and Missoula Police continued the pursuit to a motel complex on Old Fort Road where Morse attempted to hide yet again.

Police sent in their K-9 unit and Moorse was found hiding under a bridge by a water feature in the complex.

Moorse was apprehended by police and the U.S. Marshal’s Service without incident.

No one was injured in the crash or the pursuit. Moorse was not found with a weapon.

He is currently in the Missoula County Jail on 150,000 bond. He will appear in Missoula District Court at 10:00 a.m. and than in Missoula Justice Court at 2:30 p.m.
