Just when I thought I knew about nearly all the non-profits in Western Montana, a couple of years ago, Fernanada at Imagine Nation Brewing brought Soft Landing to my attention. Have you ever met Fernanda Menna Barreto Krum? Literally the most giving person on the face of this earth, she is such an amazing human, in fact, she and her husband won the latest Jannette Rankin Peace Award for their work abroad and right here at home in Missoula.

So Fernanda tells me that Soft Landing is a group of Missoulians to responsibly welcome refugees to Montana. Families uprooted by conflict and natural disaster setting foot in a town and country they've never visited. You can imagine how that must feel, and how much of a relief it is to be greeted with welcoming arms to offer guidance. That is Soft Landing Missoula.

Locally owned Five On Black has been an amazing partner to many local non-profits by offering their 'Community Giving Days.' The next one is tomorrow, May 12th, with 50% of dinner proceeds going to Soft Landing, just be sure to mention it at check out. So tomorrow when you order between 3 and 8 p.m., you'll be helping just by having filling your belly with some yummy Brazilian food, here's the menu. As small businesses continue to struggle through the national pandemic, it's so heartwarming to see they are still able to give back, that's some incredible community support.
