Cruddy Weather Stopping Your Daily Walk? Try This
A partnership between the Ravalli County Fairgrounds and the MSU Ravalli County Extension Service has opened up an indoor area for people who'd like to do their "daily constitutional" indoors. For most of the winter, the First Interstate Center at the Hamilton fairgrounds has been open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at least four days a week for walking. The rules require you log in; you must have clean and dry shoes; no pets except service animals allowed and no unsupervised children.
There is a nominal fee and the three-month trial period will end February 15. Fairgrounds Manager Melissa Saville said she would like to see the activity continue. The Ravalli County Commissioners will be discussing that possibility on February 5th at 9:30 a.m. in their Administration Center meeting room in Hamilton. This is not the first time that the large Event Center room has been used as a makeshift track. For the last two years, the American Cancer Society has had to complete their Relay for Life inside the building because of bad weather.
