Missoula saw a little bit of a dip in crime this week. The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 10 new criminal complaints for a total of 22 new criminal counts.  According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, four of those fall into the violent crime category.

“One was a partner or family member assault,” Pabst said. “The allegation is that the defendant pushed his wife down the stairs in front of some children. There was also a strangulation case. There were two non-family violent cases including an assault with a weapon. There was also an assault in which the allegation is the defendant punched the ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.”

In addition to the violent crimes, Pabst says there were a number of other crimes as well.

“There were three endangerment crimes and a felony DUI” Pabst said. “There was the negligent homicide case for the unfortunate death that occurred over towards the north side earlier in the week. There were two property crimes and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.”

In that particular case, the suspect allegedly possessed large quantities of meth and also some heroin.
