Easthampton, Massachusetts, is probably not one of your warm water destinations this time of year. So authorities were a bit extra cranky when they had to rescue a guy from a pond after he tried to pull a Christmas prank. The guy paddled a kayak out to the middle of a pond where a floating Christmas tree was anchored on a raft for the holidays. He was trying to put a rather large cut-out of Charlie Brown from Peanuts fame next to the tree. However he fell in and had to be rescued as he clung to his kayak in the 40-degree water. An Easthampton fire chief said a practical joke is not worth risking hypothermia. But in the spirit of Christmas, no charges will be filed. But the guy does have to let rescuers scream, "You blockhead!" numerous times.
