We're trying to help one of our listeners get the word out about a fundraising event Saturday, September 15.

Perhaps some of you know Chad Beierle, who has an extremely rare neuromuscular disease called primary lateral sclerosis or PLS. It is characterized by progressive muscle weakness in the voluntary muscles. Can you step up and be part of "Chad-Strong?"

Chad has slowly lost function in his legs and friends and family are organizing a bike ride fundraiser for him to try to raise money to buy Chad an Action Track wheelchair. The event starts and finishes at the Lolo Community Center. Bike riders can choose their distance south on the Bitterroot Trail as far as Victor. Victor and back is a 50-mile round trip, but you can turn around anywhere you want. That makes it easy for all riders, any level, any age. There will be water stations and porta-potties along the ride.

Things get underway at 9:00 a.m. The finish line party will start at 11:00 with good eats and beverages. There will be multiple raffle drawings, including a Makita drill/impact set and two beautiful wood carvings that Chad has personally created. Each bike rider and volunteer will get a raffle ticket, and you can purchase/earn more tickets with your pledges.

Riders are asked to make personal donations and/or get folks to sponsor you. You can register, donate and get all the info you need at the 406 Family Aid Foundation website here.  Thanks in advance for being Chad-Strong. We hope you can find it in your hearts to help make the event a success.
