Cat Nursing Orphaned Puppy

To wrap up my spring musings, thought I'd share a touching animal story designed to make you go, "ahhhhh...." In Cleveland OH, a cat caring for her four newborn kittens is also nursing an orphaned week-old pit bull. Lurlene the cat welcomed Noland the dog to her little family at a Cleveland animal shelter. The staff decided to give it a try since bottle feeding doesn't always work. And, voila! Now, Noland, who was dropped at the shelter only one day old, will of course grow faster and look for other forms of sustenance. Like cats. So the shelter may have to come up with a different feeding plan in several weeks until he's ready for adoption. But for now, thanks to Lurlene, the puppy is plump and content.
