A Favorite Downtown Missoula Business Is Closing After 43 Years
We've had a lot of news recently about different Missoula businesses either closing, or being sold, or changing in some way. Here's a quick rundown of just a few of them:
- Kettlehouse Brewing is selling its Southside location on Myrtle Street.
- El Cazador shut down their location on Higgins in downtown Missoula (but don't worry, their other spot is still open).
- Open Road Bicycles and Nordic Equipment has closed after 20 years in business.
- Imagine Nation Brewing has officially been sold to the folks behind Cymatic Fermentation Project.
And guess what? Now we can add another one to this ever-growing list, as another longtime Missoula business has announced that it's closing its doors for good.
Bob's Sew & Vac is Closing After 43 Years in Business
Bob's Sew & Vac, located on Broadway in downtown Missoula, has been serving the community with high-quality sewing machines, quilters, vacuums, and more for over 40 years. But now, according to the Missoulian, the business is set to officially close this week.
The reason behind the closure? Owner Bob Snodgrass says, "It's just time to get out while we're on top." He and his two full-time employees have just reached a point where they feel it's time to retire, so they're going to do just that.
Bob's Sew & Vac's last day in business will be Thursday, June 30th. The Missoulian says a new owner has taken over the building, though it's currently unclear who that might be.
