We're excited to be part of this year's CASA Superhero 5K, it's virtual, it's fun for kids and adults and you get to wear a cape! Not familiar with CASA? CASA is Court Appointed Special Advocates. Basically, CASA volunteers are a trusted adult and voice for the children in court. These are community members who step up to take training and get assigned to children to look out for. Kids who are abused and/or neglected and need one person they can trust to have their back.

Now that you know this is for such a great cause, I know you'll want to join us! As you may have guessed, this year's event is completely virtual. Race weekend is October 3rd and 4th, but leading up to that weekend, your family can have fun finding the villain causing havoc across Missoula, participating in our costume contest, watching videos from real-life heroes, dressing up like superheroes, and more!

Register here and make sure to tag @CASAofMissoula in your participation and run to let everyone know why you run for CASA.  All proceeds from this event go towards helping CASA of Missoula train and support volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system until they can find a safe, permanent home.

If you've ever thought about volunteering as a CASA now is a good time to get interested. The next training begins in October, so the first step is filling out an online application here. You can also learn more about CASA responsibilities on that application page, I'm on the Board of Directors, so if you have any questions at all, I'm happy to answer them if I can, angel@alternativemissoula.com
