Been in radio since 1865, right after the War Between the States. Have been doing the morning show with Al since 1940, just before The Big One. Both pets died in the last couple of years, the youngest kid moved out and we got underground sprinklers. My wife and I are foot loose and fancy free.

Many thanks to Gabby Sexton and the rest of the kids in the Seeley Lake Trailblazers 4-H Club for inviting my wife Patty and me up to Seeley Lake Saturday morning for the March Forth Against Cancer Walk. The kids raised $400.00 f...

Lurid headline to prompt you to check out this cool thing we found on Mt. Sentinel.
Little Things Do Mean a Lot
Simple acts of kindness make the Buddy Walk mean a lot.
We’re Goin’ Walkin’ With Our Buddies
Growing up it always seemed weird to me that others, both kids and adults, felt uncomfortable around people with disabilities. But then, they weren't raised by Vera!
We Take Care of Our Own
I don't know how many Country music listeners have heard Bruce Springsteen's recent release "We Take Care of Our Own". I do know that folks in Western Montana understand the concept. We've proven it time and time again. And it's time to prove it once more. For Josh's mom.
Tyler Barham Just Keeps Getting Better
If you're any kind of a regular listener of Real Country 94.9 KYSS FM you've probably heard us playing Tyler Barham's "Coal In Your Stocking This Year". It's my favorite new Christmas song. No kidding.
Tyler grew up in Florence, now lives in Missoula, and travels frequently to Nashville to record.
Here's how you can get a copy of his new EP "A Taste of Christmas".
Uh, Could We Get Some Wind Here Please?
Air Quality in Missoula is, shall we say, a little funky these days. While I love hiking to the top of Mt. Sentinel and while I usually find it pretty inspiring I'm finding it a little disconcerting these days. That is some funky air.
Turns Out Creativity Does Count
The Made Fair was held Sunday at the Holiday Inn Parkside in Missoula. The place was packed with people checking out a really interesting cross section of western Montana's most creative entrepreneurs. Talented, hard working people with great ideas and a tremendous work ethic. And since my stepdaughter Andy and her friend and business partner Joanna were showing off their wares my wife and I s
KYSSMAS for Kids 2011 Total Raised
Got an update over the weekend from Nonda, our business manager at KYSS, that we did even better than we thought on this year's KYSSMAS for Kids fund-raiser.
And It’s Off To Texas For The Griz!!!
Al is on vacation for the next week but he sent me this picture of the trailer he and his ne'r do well buddies use for their tailgate party. Each of the red solo cups are signed by one of the regulars. I don't know if it made it on to ESPN but it probably should have. Who knows, maybe it'll make it to Texas because that's where the Griz are headed next.
Here’s The Scoop On Griz Tickets
I say, with no sense of embarrassment whatsoever, I know nothing about sports. So, again with no sense of embarrassment, rather than pretend like I do and screw everything up here's the press release from Dave Guffey, UM's Associate Athletic Director explaining how to get out there and support the Griz Friday night.
This Weather Brings Out The North Dakotan In Me
It's Sunday morning. My wife and I are standing on the south peak of Mt. Sentinel like we do most every Sunday morning. Except this particular Sunday morning the wind is howling at about 3o mph and it's bead blasting my face with new snow.
And I'm loving it.
