Could this possibly be true? Could the clouds be opening up and heaven be coming down to earth? Could chocolate actually make people skinny? Will we soon be able to down a Hershey’s bar in place of hitting the gym? Probably not.

However, there is some great news regarding chocolate and weight loss. According to a new study, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, scientists recently discovered what exactly it is in chocolate that helps aid in weight loss. Scientists had already proven that cocoa was great for your heart and blood sugar but this new test proves it can be good for the waist line too.

I have to say that these are the results that every woman around the world has been waiting for. I can only hope and pray that these scientists didn’t make a mistake. I know I immediately envisioned myself devouring a box of bon-bons and not feeling guilty about it. I imagined my pants fitting looser the next day instead of tighter. Oh how glorious that would be.

How about eating an entire pan of brownies on “accident” and not having to feel ashamed when you realize you’re squishing the last few crumbs on your fingers just to lick them off?

I know these daydreams may seem crazy to men, but chocolate isn’t just food or a guilty pleasure to women. Chocolate is one of our best friends. Who do we turn to when we go through a bad breakup? A pint of fudge ripple ice cream? Who comforts us when our cat dies? An entire bag of Oreos? Who perks up our mood during the worst time of the month? Our Cadbury fruit and nut bar.

Now imagine if you’re delicious best friend could make you skinny along with always making you feel better. Wouldn’t that make chocolate your best friend ever?
