A new fundraiser had its debut in the Bitterroot Valley Saturday. The Hamilton Rotary Club presented "Men Who Cook, Women Who Judge" - a competition of celebrity male cooks. The event was held at the Flying Horse event center on Summerdale Road and raised money for the Rotary Club, the Rotary Foundation and the high school Interact service clubs in the valley. A judging panel of three women selected the winners in three categories. The event crowd also got to vote for the best on the menu.

Winning both the Judge and Crowd voting were: Gavin Ricklefs (Bitterroot Land Trust) with his chowder appetizer, John Bishop (Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital) with his salmon main entree and Chuck Shonkwiler (Trail West Banks-Ravalli County) with his four-layer dessert. Rotary Club organizers are already planning next year's competition at an even larger venue.
