John Sandford is a great crime novel writer. His character Virgil Flowers  is the ultimate crime investigator. He’s smart, unassuming, subtle and funny. He has a way of disarming suspects  during questioning. He can also come down hard on the toughest criminals.

His assignment is to find out who’s setting off bombs in a Minnesota  town.  He has lots of suspects to choose from; local merchants fearing for their businesses, and environmentalists, predicting ecological disaster.

Shock Wave is a great read, fast and hard to put down.
