Fast food has been a life saver during the pandemic. With the thought of having to wade through a crowd of people fighting over toilet paper at the grocery store. Fast food always presented itself as a safer option. With so many retail stores offering curbside pick up, and grocery stores offering to bring your groceries to your car. Sometimes it was just a lot easier to get your food the old fashioned way. Through a drive thru window.

So, with that in mind, what was your fast food restaurant of choice over the last year? What place did choose not just because of decent food, but also convenience?

It seems you cant go anywhere in the medium to larger towns in Montana, without running into a McDonalds or a Starbucks. You also may discover at least 1 if not 2 Wendy's, Burger Kings and Subway restaurants...Depending on where you live.

But, what fast food restaurant does Montana have more of than a majority of the rest of the country?

The website nicerx.com looked at the data. According to the website.

Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, along with population estimates, we’ve calculated the fast food density across America, seeing which states have the most and least overall. We’ve also looked at 10 of the most popular fast food chains, as well as full-service restaurants.

The result, is that Montana is in the top 5 for states with the most amount of Dairy Queen restaurants. With North Dakota holding the top spot. North Dakota has 5 DQ restaurants for every 100,000 people. Montana has an average of 3.4 DQs for every 100,000 people.

Even if a large chunk of our favorite fast food restaurants close for the winter. We are still HUGE fans of Blizzards and Dilly Bars.
