Western Montana Wind Advisory Saturday Sounds Serious
Weekends always blow by too fast, but the first Saturday of 2020 might literally blow by.
The National Weather Service has posted a wind advisory for Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., and it will be accompanied by some rain and snow which could get heavy at times and make for some treacherous outdoor conditions.
West winds of 30 to 40 MPH with gusts up to 50 are expected. Winds in higher terrain will be in excess of 70 MPH. Snow showers will combine with gusty winds to create periods of low visibility. Backcountry conditions may become dangerous.
Areas under the advisory include Bittterroot Valley, Missoula Valley, Highway 93 from Sula to Lost Trail Pass, Lolo Pass and Seeley Lake area. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Please use extra caution when driving, folks, and do stay safe.
