I was trying to think of a famous line from a classic volleyball movie to lead off this article with, but then I realized... there aren't really any great volleyball movies. The only one I could think of was the one Air Bud sequel where the dog plays volleyball, but I doubt that one holds up. Would Cast Away count? I mean, it does HAVE a volleyball. Seems like a pretty untapped market for sports movies.

Anyway, even though I couldn't find any inspirational quotes from a volleyball classic we all know and love, volleyball players in Missoula should take note of this one: the fourth annual Volleyball Open is scheduled to take place at Fort Missoula Regional Park on Saturday, July 10th, and registration is open right now.

There are several different divisions you can register for, ranging in experience - so players looking to really compete will be satisfied, and so will players who are looking to just have some fun. Free Agents and Fort Missoula are working with the Missoula City-County Health Department to put the tournament on in the safest way they can.

Registration is first come-first served, and there will be a waitlist after that in case people drop out before the tournament starts. For all the info, you can find it on their Facebook event page.

And if you're looking for more competition at Fort Missoula this year, you can check out the cornhole tournament being set up, scheduled for the week after the volleyball tournament.
