Picture this: bonfires, fireworks, and the roar of the crowd as everyone comes together for a legendary homecoming celebration.

Yep, it's Homecoming Week on the University of Montana campus. This year’s homecoming theme is “Party Like It’s 1995,” a nod to the Montana Grizzlies’ first football national title 30 years ago. And while there are many events, let's highlight a few must-see activities Griz Nation will want to be a part of.

YELL NIGHT PEP RALLY

A fabulous gathering to inspire true team spirit! The Yell Night Pep Rally starts at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in front of Main Hall on the UM Campus.

Join the Homecoming festivities for a night of Griz celebration and spirit, including a bonfire, fireworks and lighting of the “M.” Head Football Coach Bobby Hauck, the Grizzly football team, the UM and alumni marching bands, spirit squad and Monte the Mascot will all be in attendance.

HOMECOMING PARADE

On Saturday, October 11, starting at 10:00 a.m. Get ready to throw it back, Grizzlies—the 2025 Homecoming Parade is going to be a blast! This year’s theme, “Party Like It’s 1995,” celebrates all the retro vibes, timeless Griz spirit and our vintage colors of copper, silver and gold. Even if they are not all ravenous Griz football fans, the people of Missoula look forward to another unforgettable morning filled with community pride, creative entries and Montana magic.

The parade will follow its historic route along Higgins Avenue in downtown Missoula, moving south. across the Bear Tracks Bridge and east onto University Avenue.

ALUMNI TAILGATE

UM grads and their companions are invited to gather for the Alumni Tailgate at noon Saturday, October 11, at the River Bowl. Food and drinks will be provided to the first 150 attendees. ID required.

FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL, SOCCER

It all sets the stage for a big weekend for Grizzly sports.

Nationally ranked (#4) and undefeated Montana football hosts Cal Poly Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

It's Brawl of the Wild volleyball style Saturday night, when Montana hosts Montana State starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Adams Center.

The Griz soccer team has two home matches this week: 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9 vs Weber State and noon Sunday, October 12, vs Idaho State. Both matches are at South Campus Stadium.
