U of Montana Student in Huge Chef of the Year Contest

COOK KATIE COOK! The Townsquare team wants to wish best of luck to the University of Montana's Katie Barnes.

Katie is a culinary arts student at Missoula College University of Montana. University of Montana News Service tells us that she will be competing in the American Culinary Federation Student Chef of the Year competition in February. Katie calls winning the contest the largest achievement you can get as a student competitor. She is one of only 11 elite students to make it to this level!

The competition takes place in Joliet, Illinois. Katie will prepare a dish alongside 10 other student contestants from across the country. They will choose an entree or dessert, using competition-specific ingredients. If you follow our blogs, you may remember the story last May, where Katie won a gold medal at another American Culinary Federation contest in Bellingham, Washington.

This young woman is destined to do great things and we wanted to let her know we're cheering for her. We also plan to be first in line at the victory buffet table (that Katie will prepare for us, of course). :-)
