Two Popular Montana Destinations Make The Top 5 For This.
Summer is here and soon folks will be loading up and heading out to spend quality time with family on some sort of summer adventure.
Growing up, there was always great anticipation whenever we would head out for a summer vacation. Although, my parents were cheap and we would only go to places where we had relatives so they didn't have to pay for a hotel. (I mean, nothing against Abilene, Texas, but there wasn't a whole lot happening there in the early 80s.)
I can't tell you how thrilled my brother and I were when our Aunt and Uncle moved to California for a few years. (So long Abilene and hello Disneyland!) I mean summer vacations are supposed to be fun, right? You want to go somewhere you'll remember and make memories that last a lifetime.
Speaking of fun, U.S News and World Report came out with a list of "Best Summer Vacations In The USA." The publication listed over 20 different destinations for summer family fun. Locations included places like Boston, Seattle, and San Fransisco. Plus, there were several national parks that made the list as well.
So, what about Montana? How did we do?
Not only did Montana make the list, but we made the list twice. Both Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park were included. In fact, both of our entries made it to the Top 5. Glacier National Park came in at number 5 on the list of Best Summer Vacations In The USA, so if Glacier is number 5, then where did Yellowstone National Park end up?
Yellowstone National Park took the top spot as the number one place for the best summer vacation. Rounding out the Top 3 was the Grand Canyon at number two, and San Diego at number 3.
It certainly makes sense that both places made the Top 5—every year millions of folks come to Montana to spend time at both destinations. I mean, both have everything you need for summer fun. There's the amazing scenery, adventure, and lots of opportunities to spend money on overpriced souvenirs, food, and little knick-knacks.
I mean, really, isn't that what summer vacations are all about?
