Man, I miss movies. I'm somebody who, before the pandemic, would be at the movie theater just about every weekend, and often even more than that. And even though the AMC theaters here in Missoula re-opened a little while ago, I still haven't been back - it doesn't feel especially safe to go, what with COVID cases being significantly on the rise throughout the state, but there's also just not that many new movies coming out. Most of the major ones have been pushed back until 2021, and most of the smaller ones have found alternative means of release, either on a streaming service or through video-on-demand.

If you're missing theaters like I am, you may want to bring the family to this one, just to get a little bit of nostalgia. Summit Church Missoula is hosting a Trunk or Treat event in the parking lot of Missoula's AMC 12, across from the Walmart on Mullan Road. Here's an outline of what's going on, from their Facebook event page:

Trunk or Treat event Saturday, October 24th from 3pm to 5pm. This is a family event. Drop by and walk with your kids through our event area for some great candy in a safe environment! Costumes welcome! First 50 kids through get free AMC movie vouchers.

Pretty cool! In a time where Halloween is really up in the air, it's nice to know that there's at least a few options out there for families, like this, Zootown Church's Trunk or Treat event, or the Ranch Club's Community Fall Festival. Will you be checking this out?
