Thermos Recall After Serious Eye Injuries

There are product recalls every week. Heck, there might be product recalls every day or so, it seems. One of the latest recalls is turning heads due to its alarming nature.

Thermos Recalls 8 Million Travel Mugs

Montana, be on the lookout for any Thermos travel mugs sitting in your cupboards.

"If perishable food or beverages are stored in the container for an extended period of time, the stopper can forcefully eject when opened, which can result in serious impact injury and laceration hazards to the consumer. - cpsc.gov

All you're trying to do is take a swig of water or coffee, and WAPAH, the lid shoots out at your face. That is dangerous.

The CPSC says there are 5.8 million Stainless King Food Jars and 2.3 million Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles being recalled.

There have been 27 reported injuries, and three people lost their vision permanently after the lid hit their eyes.

These devices were sold at Target, Walmart, Thermos.com, and Amazon between 2008 and 2024.

Utz Potato Chip Recall

On top of all of that, Utz is recalling "limited varieties of Zapp's and Dirty potato chips," according to the FDA.

Utz discovered potential Salmonella contamination in dry milk powder from California Dairies, an ingredient in the chips. The FDA said the recall comes "out of an abundance of caution."
