The Washington, D.C.-based  Beer Institute recently published their annual report on per capita beer consumption. The study found that New Hampshire residents drink the most beer per capita, followed by North Dakota, Montana, South Dakota and Nevada. Utah had the least per-capita beer consumption.  Just how much beer do the leaders consume?

NH-43 gallons

ND-42.2 gallons

MT-40.6 gallons

SD-38.0 gallons

NV-36.5 gallons

The figures are based upon the number of 31 gallon barrels of beer shipped to the state divided by the number of people of legal drinking age. Taking into account that some people don’t drink beer some of us are overachieving. (Figures based on Beer Institute 2011 report)
