The 65th Montana Legislature is officially underway after swearing-in ceremonies took place on Monday. Republicans hold strong majorities in both houses.
A Havre High School senior has announced plans to run for the state Legislature. Jacob Bachmeier serves as the vice chairman of the Hill County Democratic Party and said he will run for the District 28 seat.

Missoula representative Champ Edmunds has proposed a unique bill, H.B. 574, which would allow the purchase and sale of raw milk in Montana with some restrictions.
OK...I've heard the arguments for carrying concealed weapons in the bar. I've heard why we should allow silencers on deer hunting rifles. I've even heard the arguments about why we should be able to access our inner-caveman and go elk hunting with spears. But this one takes the cake.
