You're country folk and don't mind getting your hands a little dirty. But out of respect for the germaphobe, we have this. According to the American Journal of Infection Control, a fist bump spreads only one-20th of the amount of bacteria that the average handshake does. Looking for something in between? A high-five is about half as germy as a handshake. So, if you are being introduced to someone or about to greet a person you haven't seen in awhile, I don't know what the proper etiquette is. Do you call it out ahead of time depending on your personal germ index? Stay healthy, my friends. DB
