Service With a Soundtrack! Free Event at U of Montana Saturday
How about those community and public service-minded Griz!
For the third time, the University of Montana was recently named as the No. 1 school in the United States for community and public service. A lot of great students doing a lot of great things for their school, their city and beyond. That's cause for a celebration, and you are invited.
With the academic school year winding down (graduation ceremonies are May 10), UM News Service tells us that "Service With a Soundtrack: UM Celebrates Community and Giving Back" will take place on the UM Campus Oval this Saturday, May 3. The university invites the community to server and celebrate together with the UM Advocates for the Big Event, a campus day of service from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
BUT THAT'S JUST THE BEGINNING!
Everyone is also invited to the Weary Travelers Music Festival from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., also on the UM Oval. The annual event is put on by Switchback Records.
This year’s lineup includes the Roots Ensemble, Miller Sebo, Sardines, Calamity Cowboy, Color Blind, Wave Function and Big Mosquito.
The Big Event is hosted by the Office for New Student Success, Experiential Learning and Career Success, and Student Life. The student-led day of service and celebration is all about coming together to serve the UM campus and local community, followed by festivities to commemorate the end of the academic year in style. UM students, if you are interested in being part of a public service project, you can register in advance here.
