After a successful first mass vaccination clinic, the Missoula County COVID 19 Vaccination Team will do it all again this Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Center on the University of Montana campus.

Public Information Officer Nick Holloway provided details of the second clinic, also only for those in Phase 1 B, Tier 1.

“We did have that one successful vaccine clinic last Sunday and we got some more vaccine this week, so we're doing another vaccine clinic,” said Holloway. “We're going to double the number of folks that were vaccinating this week with 800 doses, so we’re building upon the success we had last week.”

The team will open registration at a specific time on Thursday for both those registering online and via phone.

“At 1:00 p.m. the link goes live on our website so people can start scheduling at that time,” he said. “We'll also have call takers to help people that do not have internet access. And we are requesting people with internet access to be sure to self schedule on our website, so that makes room for the folks that do not have access.”

Holloway reiterated the fact that the second dose will be scheduled along with the first.

“When you get your first vaccine, you will be scheduled for your second vaccine at that time, and we ask that you make a priority out of coming to that second vaccination that'll be 21 days after your first vaccination,” he said. “So that is a big priority. It's a big logistical effort to try and schedule people around that so you can understand if we have 1,000 people and 200 of them wanted to reschedule that would jam up the works for us.”

Holloway added that if anyone is feeling sick to please stay home.

“If you're feeling sick, please do not come in,” he said. “Stay home and stay socially distanced.  “When you do come in, be prepared to continue with the mitigation measures that we've all been doing for all these months wearing a mask, social distancing and sanitizing. This is a COVID vaccination, but we still need to stop the spread during the vaccination.”

Log on starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at COVID 19.missoula.co, or call 258-INFO (4636) to register for Sunday’s mass vaccination clinic from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Center.

Those who call or log on early will not be scheduled.
