The University of Montana spectrUM Discovery Area has released its 2019 summer camp lineup.

Sure, sports camps are a blast and very beneficial, but so is a range of science-related subjects for kids ages 6-14 from June to August that keep those young minds' gears churning. Enrollment is already open to spectrUM members and starts for the general public on February 16.

SpectrUM's summer camps include a variety options, including Get Set to Be a Vet, Treasure Island Adventures, The Magic of Chemistry, Makers Academy and Camp Contraption. Kids can try anything from designing and building catapults and bridges to extracting DNA and hunting for a treasure chest on a pirate's map.

Most camps will be held at either the Missoula College River Campus or at the spectrUM Discovery Area at 812 Toole Avenue. You can get more information, camp schedules and register at the spectrUM website. Here's hoping your kiddos find one or more that are fascinating and worthwhile this summer!
