It only lasted 2 years. And I think because of cultural differences, ability to relate to an apprearance you're not used to as a child, things like that, I can see why it happened, can't you?...Mattel has closed its flagship Barbie store in Shanghai after only being open since 2009.  While  Barbie remains popular in the U.S. , Mattel says they just never took off with little girls in China.  One of the problems was how costly they were to accessorize. Great Wall Barbie was not only outrageously expensive but the packaging was just way too bulky.
