The usual opening for the public to start reserving the popular Three Sisters Group Site at Lake Como was during the federal government shutdown. So, the Bitterroot National Forest rescheduled the start of reservation applications for Monday, February 11 at 8 a.m.

Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest said the site is across the road from the Rock Creek Horse Camp/trailhead near the Como dam. It is popular for family gatherings, reunions and wedding receptions, with a large wooden pavilion, eight picnic tables, a large BBQ grill and parking for 25 vehicles. There are restrooms and benches but no on-site water or electricity. Capacity is about 75 people. How do you reserve the spot? It's first-come, first-served at the Darby Ranger Station (406) 821-3913 or visit their office at 712 North Main Street (US 93) in Darby. Find out more about the site at the Bitterroot National Forest's webpage.
