Uh oh, Hollywood has re-discovered Montana. On the heels of the success of Yellowstone, comes another drama series set in Montana. Unlike Yellowstone, this one's not actually filmed here, though. "Big Sky" was originally supposed to be filmed in Albuquerque and Las Vegas, which is curious as we don't have a lot of desert here in Montana. However, due to the pandemic, the show ended up being shot entirely in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, which probably made for a more Montana-like feel anyway.

The show is called "Big Sky" and it's all about a couple of detectives who are trying to figure out who kidnapped two girls from a remote Montana highway. This leads to the discovery of more missing girls and it's a whole thing. Ryan Phillippe plays Detective Cody Hoyt, you know him from a ton of movies, including, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Cruel Intentions." You can see one of the trailers below.

The show was created by David E. Kelley, who is known for Big Little Lies, The Practice, if you're old school you might remember Picket Fences, and he's also known for being married to one Michelle Pfeiffer. The series is based on a novel that was released in 2013, called 'The Highway' by author C.J. Box.

With the pandemic and staying home most hours of every single day, we've seen just about everything on Netflix, so we'll probably check out the first episode. We're more of a Mandalorian or comedy film family, not much into the drama, we don't even watch Yellowstone, but we might give this one a whirl. The show debuts tomorrow, Tuesday, November 17th on ABC.
