For only the second time this season, a Montana Grizzly has earned the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award.

And there was little doubt, as our guy, senior forward Jamar Akoh, put in dominant performances in wins this past Thursday and Saturday over Idaho State and Weber State.

Jamar looked unstoppable at times in both games. In the win over Idaho State, he scored 22 points and also had 17 rebounds and four steals.  And against Weber State on Saturday, he poured in 25 points to go along with 10 rebounds and two steals. And he is putting in these performances still probably not at 100 percent, as an ever-present wrist injury on his shooting hand can be a nuisance to him at times.

But he fights through and shows a lot of Griz toughness, which will be needed Saturday night in a Brawl of the Wild - basketball style - in Bozeman against the Bobcats. Congrats to Jamar and GO GRIZ!
