Missoula Weekly Crime Report: Violence, Drugs, and Theft Dominate Again

The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 25 new felony criminal complaints this week. There was one case in particular that involved assault, burglary, and partner or family member assault. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst explains.

“This case had so many charges and they were all different, encompassing a whole string of allegedly bad behavior,” Pabst said. “We charged disorderly conduct, obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. A man was charged after attending a five-year-old child’s birthday party. There were children at the house and other adults that were victimized. It was a very involved situation.”

In addition, Pabst said her office charged four non family violence cases.

“Two of those were robberies and there was an assault with a weapon,” Pabst said. “In that case, the defendant allegedly hit the victim in the back with a tire iron. We charged another case of an assault on a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer. In that case, the defendant allegedly threw his skateboard at an officer while in the midst of a foot pursuit. There was also methamphetamine involved in that case.”

According to Pabst, they also charged several methamphetamine cases.

“The fifth drug case involved several counts including possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of drugs, obstructing, resisting, and possession of property subject to criminal forfeiture,” Pabst said. “In that case, the defendant allegedly possessed some acid, cocaine, hash oil, marijuana, hand guns, scales, baggies, empty capsules, and some cash.”
