We are all missing concerts and I admitted on the air last week that I wasn't a fan of livestreams until I actually tried it and loved it! I thought a livestream would be impersonal and not quite the concert experience, but I'll tell ya, it sure felt like good therapy after I watched the Foo Fighters a couple weeks back. It really did.

Matt Olson of Attack and Release Sound & Studio and Adam Winger of The Noise Gate Studio are launching the "Hellgate Music Series", a new virtual concert project that will begin this weekend with local band Shakewell. The Missoulian did a great write up on the project and it sounds like the plan is to show local bands performing from legendary Missoula locations. For instance, the series premiere was Shakewell performing on the roof of the historic Florence Building. Oh, and guess what, all of the shows are FREE.

The first 5 shows are pre-recorded but Matt and Adam plan to switch to livestreams after the holiday season. Here's the thing though. We all think this is an amazing idea and naturally all of us live music lovers want to see it continue into 2021, but the project needs a major sponsor. If your business would like to get involved or you have some ideas on this, hit up The Noise Gate Studio.

The next show is Mirror Gods, Red Onion Purple, and Transcendental Express from the Missoula Art Park this Saturday. Tune in at 7 p.m. to watch on The Noise Gate Studio YouTube channel. A new show will premiere every Saturday night on that channel, so you might wanna bookmark the link. Here's the full write up in The Missoulian and the upcoming shows.
