Missoula Man on Probation Gets Caught With Liquid Meth

On June 17, 2022, a Missoula Police Department officer was dispatched to an apartment in the 1000 block of East Broadway after a neighbor stated he heard a female yelling “no, stop!” in a frightful manner. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold picks up the story.

“Officers responded to a report of a physical disturbance at an apartment complex,” Arnold said. “When officers knocked on the front door, a male Macio Brooks answered the door for officers. Brooks spoke to officers and provided a statement. While on the scene, officers observed broken glass on the floor and observed a person inside the apartment holding their foot in pain.”

Brooks stated there was no argument, but that the female had stepped on a piece of broken glass, which caused her pain.

“Brooks is currently on probation,” Arnold said. “Probation and parole became involved. Based on the information provided, probation requested a search of Brooks, his residence, and his vehicle. In the probation search, drug paraphernalia and dangerous drugs, which tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine, were located. Brooks was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center.”

An officer searched, among other things, a vehicle parked outside the apartment and registered to Brooks. Brooks stated he was the only one who used the vehicle. A Nike bag sat on the front passenger side. Within the bag were a black digital scale, a butane torch, a glass bulb pipe, and two hypodermic needles containing a clear liquid substance. The liquid tested positive for methamphetamine.

Brooks is currently being charged with one felony count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
