Missoula County Juggles 27 Felony Cases This Week
All of the smoke in Missoula doesn’t seem to be keeping criminals indoors. Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst says her office was juggling 27 cases this past week.
"We had five drug cases: three of them involving methamphetamine," Pabst said. "There were eight property crimes including five theft cases and two embezzlement cases, one of which involved an employee that took $14,000 from his previous employer."
There was only one felony DUI for the week, but there were a lot of endangerment cases, many of which involved alcohol.
"There were five endangerment crimes, one involving a defendant that allegedly busted through a roadblock and endangered one of the National Guardsmen. There were two child endangerment cases involving 5-yearld children. There was a negligent vehicular assault resulting in bodily injur,y the allegation there was that the defendant driving a vehicle hit a couple that was on a motorcycle and then fled the scene."
On top of all that, there was a robbery reported at Missoula Fresh Market, an arson, and an odd case of criminal mischief in which a suspect is accused of vandalizing police cars and vehicles for 911 dispatch personnel.
