The Missoula Fire Protection Association in conjunction with local wildland fire partners, the Missoula County Office of Emergency Management and the Missoula City-County Health Department have moved fire danger in Missoula County to VERY HIGH as of Monday, July 30th.

The current warm dry weather looks to continue throughout the week, and a cold front promises to bring the potential of high winds later in the week, increasing fire danger. While open burning remains closed in Missoula County, no further restrictions are being proposed. Association president Frank Mardeo says the committee will meet again next Monday to determine if fire danger should be increased to extreme.
