Ogres are like onions, and soon, anybody who tunes in to the Missoula Children's Theatre live stream will know that for a fact. For their next live-streamed performance, MCT is presenting their production of Shrek The Musical Jr., performed entirely by students from grades 6 through 12.

Based on the hit movie which was then adapted into a Broadway musical, Shrek tells the story of an ogre living a swamp that gets overrun by discarded fairy-tale creatures. He has to team up with his annoying sidekick Donkey to rescue the princess Fiona from a fire-breathing dragon to bring her back to Lord Farquaad to marry... and you probably know the rest from there.

This should be fun! The kids have been hard at work to make it happen, and it can't be easy to do these productions knowing you're not going to have a live, physical audience out there to perform to. It'll be a unique experience to watch it virtually, and you'll be supporting the Missoula Children's Theatre while you're at it.

The first live stream is happening on Saturday, February 20th at 7 PM, and then three more are schedule for Sunday the 21st at 3 PM, 5 PM, and 7 PM. The stream costs $10 (plus a service fee), which you can purchase right here.

Will you be checking out the Missoula Children's Theatre production of Shrek the Musical? And perhaps the most important question: does the cast get to sing "All Star" by Smash Mouth? I guess we'll find out the weekend of February 20th.
