For those of us who look forward to the Western Montana Fair and Ravalli County Fair each year (we typically go to both), we are certainly missing one of our favorite parts of summer. The atmosphere, bingo, beer garden, exhibits, running into friends you don't see often, the carnival, 4H/FFA, the rodeo and especially, the fair food. The locals at Paradise Falls were using their noggins and have added some classic fair fare to their menu to make up for the lack of once-in-a-while favorite treats in our lives.

Starting this Friday, August 7th, P Falls will have a special $5 menu that will include soft pretzels, funnel cake, poutine and German sausage corn dogs. I wouldn't even know what poutine is if it weren't for a dear friend who LOVES a good plate of it. It's a Canadian dish of french fries covered in cheese curds and brown gravy. I'm sure it's delicious, but I have yet to try it. And I imagine the German sausage corn dogs are somewhat like your traditional Western Montana Fair Sons of Norway Viking. And I don't have to ask if you want some funnel cake, we all know the answer to that.

Pretty thoughtful of P Falls to offer up some faves to help cure a broken heart from missing the Fair. If you need your Tater Pig fix, check out my recipe for Tater Pig Casserole here. And, get more info here on how to participate in this Saturday's 4H/FFA Livestock Sale at the Fairgrounds here.
