Man Paid Seven Cents for Eating Breakfast

Here's to our extra-extra-seasoned citizens! They've seen a lot, taught us a lot and they deserve perks! And this gent is soooooo old...the restaurant owed him money!

Like many eateries, it is the policy of the Belmont Restaurant in Manchester, New Hampshire, to offer a birthday discount---a percentage off the bill based on how old you are. If it's your 50th, half off, you hit the big 8-0, get 80% off, etc. But since Joseph Nelson came in to celebrate his 101st birthday, the Belmont had to give him 101% off! So Mr. Nelson was paid seven cents for his order of eggs and ham and a slice of chocolate cake. Great story. Happy 101 to Joe!
