Popular Missoula Bridge Will Be Closed For Repairs Starting Next Week
Missoula has been going through its fair share of changes over the last few months. Between all the stories about restaurants closing down and those spaces opening up to new business, plus the construction and renovations coming to locations like Caras Park and the Waterworks Trail, it really feels like Missoula could be an entirely different place in just a couple of years.
Whether you think that's a good or a bad thing is up to you, but I think most would see work being done to repair one of our town's fixtures as probably a positive. So here's your heads up that NBC Montana is reporting that Maclay Bridge in Missoula is going to be closed for repairs beginning this Monday, October 18th. No word yet on how long the repairs are going to take.
There's also no word on what exactly the repairs might entail, so this post is more of a PSA - if you usually cross Maclay Bridge to get from home to work, you're going to have to make some alternate plans beginning next week.
Maclay Bridge is kind of on the outskirts of Missoula, and crosses the Bitterroot River through North Avenue. So luckily, the closure shouldn't impact those who live in town too much. If you're coming from there trying to get into Missoula, that's going to be a different story.
Do you cross Maclay Bridge when traveling to Missoula? Is this closure going to affect you in a major way?
