As someone who lives in Montana, I rarely think of vacationing at a Dude Ranch.  Not that it's bad, but I've spent a lot of time on ranches, so my vacation ideas lean more toward the town end of things.

For travelers to the Treasure State, a Dude Ranch can actually be a bucket list thing.  I did some research, and Montana has some very highly rated Dude ranches spread around the state.  I took to Travel and Leisure because I trust them a lot.  They do yearly surveys from people who actually stayed at different resorts around the world and then every year they do a ratings breakdown.

#5.  The Resort At Paws Up, Greenough

This resort has made a few of the lists I've done about travelling the Big Sky Country.  They're very highly rated and offer luxury accommodations as well as plenty of adventures you can plan for everyone in the family.

#4 Sage Lodge, Pray

Sage Law is 25 minutes outside of Yellowstone Park.  They offer all sorts of indoor comforts with the thrill of experiencing outdoor adventures in Big Sky Country.

Lone Mountain Ranch is about 18 miles from Yellowstone and has been offering year round Montana adventures for over 100 years.  This is "Yellowstone TV Country" for enthusiasts of the show.
