Lots of UM Students’ ‘Griz Welcome’ Events Scheduled
Missoula and the University of Montana are getting ready to welcome UM students back to campus for the start of fall semester.
If you are a student, or if you know some, you'll definitely want to take a look at the social calendar, with many activities before and after classes get underway on Thursday, August 31. Some of the highlights:
>Friday, August 25 - Game Room Night 6-10 p.m., University Center Game Room. Enjoy some friendly competition featuring billiards, ping-pong, gaming consoles and board games.
>Saturday, August 26 - Speed Friending 7-10 p.m., University Center Ballroom. Participants get two minutes to talk to each other with a few discussion points to lead the way.
>Sunday, August 27 - President's Stadium Social for Students and Parents 7-8:30 p.m., Adams Center Hall of Champions and Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Tour the new Hall of Champions and use the players' tunnel to access the football stadium. Meet UM President Sheila Stearns. There will also be snacks, Monte the Mascot and the UM Marching band.
>Monday, August 28 - Bear Fair 7-9 p.m., University Center. Students can cruise the UC and get info and clubs and programs.
>Tuesday, August 29 - Silent Disco 8 p.m-midnight, UM Oval. Pretty clever stuff! Dancers wear headphones with colored lights to indicate to other dancers which channel they're tuned in and dancing to.
>Friday, September 1 - Grocery BINGO 7-9 p.m., University Center Balllroom. A chance to play BINGO with fellow students and bag some free groceries.
