I was about to say that I hadn't seen any stand-up in a while, but then it occurred to me that I haven't seen anything in a while. The fun thing about seeing stand-up from amateur or unfamiliar comedians, is you have no idea what you're going to get. It could either be tears in the eyes hilarious, or tears in the eyes cringy, both can be entertaining, unless you're an absolute non-fan of second hand embarrassment.

The Giggle Box at the Southgate Mall is hosting a Comedy Showcase this Friday night, March 19th. Featuring James Johnson, who I've never seen do stand-up, but I have seen his comments on Facebook, and he's definitely funny. Patrick Yoder, Alex Kaufman, Rena Thiel, and Aaron Juhl are also performing, and your host for the evening is Cody Trogoon.

Each ticket is $40 for a table of 5 and can be purchased here. Be sure to choose the time you prefer to attend, it would suck to show up with a party of 5 at the wrong time. All tables will be "heavily sanitized" between shows, your mask should be on any time you are standing (which you should be used to at this point.)

There are two shows, the first from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and the second from 9:30 to 11 p.m. Both shows are 18+ and there will be a full bar for those with appropriate ID. The Giggle Box requests that you arrive 15 minutes prior to showtime, with everyone in your party.
