A special place in my heart, as she was one of the premier pop artists on the radio when I was a little bitty DJ. One of the great female voices is silenced by a cruel disease. Linda Ronstadt announced that she has been diagnosed with Parkinson's and will never be able to sing again. Quoting the release she sent to AARP, "I couldn't sing and I couldn't figure out why. And it didn't occur to me to a neurologist. I think I've had it for seven or eight years already...no one can sing with Parkinson's disease. No matter how hard you try." Here's wishing her the best in coping with her challenges. Personal favorite: "Don't Know Much" (her duet with Aaron Neville). Pure, powerful and sincere. Yours?  DB
