Kacey Musgraves recently stopped by the set of The Late Late Show With James Corden, and in keeping with the holiday season, she and host James Corden undertook an elaborate live act-out of a holiday rom-com, conveyed via song. "We've got 14 songs, nine sets, one take and zero pressure," Corden joked to the audience as he prepared for the skit.

Next, the pair launched into holiday song mash-up bonanza as they acted out the story line of Hallmark film A Christmas Love Story. The fun kicked off as Musgraves plays a shop employee, wrapping up her work day as she sings "Jingle Bell Rock." Just as she flips the "open" sign on the door to "closed," in comes Corden. The two lock eyes, and a music-filled holiday romance is born.

Together, the two build a snowman (and take selfies with the finished project!), roast chestnuts in a cast-iron skillet and even visit Santa Claus. All the while, they sing classics such as "The Christmas Song," "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus," "Blue Christmas" and even Musgraves' own "Christmas Makes Me Cry."

Misunderstandings drive the couple apart in the middle of the skit, and Musgraves brings a present to Corden's door in an attempt to reconcile, but ends up singing "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" after he slams the door in her face. However, in true rom-com fashion, everything works out in the end, with help from a team of Christmas carolers and a scene borrowed from classic film The Notebook. Watch the clip above to see the warm and fuzzy ending!

Musgraves is no stranger to holiday magic. She debuted her variety show, The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show in late November, and put out a holiday album of her own, A Very Kacey Christmas, in 2016.
